The purpose of this research is to analyze the political pragmatism of Hizb al-Nour in Egypt after 2011 Arab Spring. For this purpose, I presented the meaning of Salafism, the background of al-Da wa and al-Nour, the political and religious differences between al-Da wa and al-Nour, the political and religious differences between MB and al-Nour, al-Nour s change from religious Salafism to political pragmatism, and al-Sisi s religious policy against MB and al-Nour. Salafism has been one of the most dynamic movements in Egypt since 2011, and al-Nour was founded on the basis of Salafism al-Da wa. After 2011 uprising, Salafists entered into the Egyptian politics, and historically shifted their attitude from the religious quietism to a new political Salafism. Since 2013, al-Nour s political pragmatism has derived from the party s instrumental intervention in politics. It is said, in comparison with MB al-Nour is not an Islamist party, and al-Da wa is not an Islamist movement. But most of the Salafists have regarded al-Nour s political pragmatism as a passive pragmatism, and assumed its Salafism and religious sectarianism will be sustainable.
