베자의 국가 저항권에 대한 이해

한국교회는 기독교의 윤리와 갈등을 빚는 사회적 담론에 대항하여 신앙의 목소리를 내야 하는 상황에 직면하게 되었다. 어떻게 사회적 담론에 저항하여 그리스도인의 정체성을 드러내느냐의 문제는 교회사 적으로 국가저항이라는 주제로 논의되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 이 주제를 근대화의 포문을 연 베자의 『시민들에 대한 관리들의 권리』 (Du Droit des Magistrats sur leurs sujects)를 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 베자의 국가 저항의 신학적 이론화 작업은 근대 국가의 형성의 이론적 토대를 놓았기 때문에, 그의 신학적 논의는 여전히 유효하기 때문이다. 이를 위해서 우선, 앙부아즈의 음모사건(1560)에서부터 종교전쟁을 촉발한 바시 학살(1562)까지 다룰 것이다. 이 음모사건이 개혁교회가 신앙의 자유를 위해서 저항을 시도한 사건이기 때문이다. 베자는 이음모를 어떻게 생각했는지, 그 과정에서 다루어진 논제에 대한 베자의 입장을 살펴볼 것이다. 둘째, 성 바돌로매 축일의 대학살이 일어나게된 배경과 그 과정, 그리고 이후의 종교전쟁의 양상을 살펴볼 것이다. 이 사건에 주목하는 이유는 국가가 백성의 저항을 이유를 박해를 한사건이기 때문이다. 이 사건이 일어나는 역사적 과정을 서술하고, 베자가 이 사건에 대하여 어떤 입장을 취하는지 살펴보고자 한다. 마지막으로 베자가 어떻게 국가 저항을 위한 이론적 작업을 하는지, 그의 글을 분석할 것이다. 그리고 정치적 언약, 자연법과 저항의 주체, 저항의 조건을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다.

The Korean Church is faced with the situation in which it must answer the social agendas that cause conflict with Christian ethics. Christians have been resisting national leaders for truth throughout Christian history because the truth is the existential basis of Christian faith. In this paper, I will analyse Beza’s book, Du Droit des Magistrats sur leurs sujects and investigate the national resistance theory because this theory provided the theological basis for national resistance in the transition to modern society. For this, I will first describe the historical process from the Amois Conspiracy (1560) to the Massacre of Vassy (1562), which caused the religious war, and I will explain the issues in the debate in relation to national resistance. Secondly, I will deal especially with the Massacre del la Saint-Barthélemy because this incident changed the view of resistance to the state. I will show Beza’s understanding of this massacre. Finally, I will analyse his book and examine the rationale for resistance, the subject of resistance and the conditions for resistance.
