언어 네트워크 분석 방법을 활용한 소방 이미지에 관한 연구

A Study on the Image of Fire Fighting Using Semantic Network Analysis: Focusing on the Perception of D University Students

현대사회 이전에 소방기관은 주로 화재진압 위주의 역할이 요구되었으나, 오늘날에는 화재에 대한 진압 및 예방뿐만 아니라 구조와 구급 나아가 재난관리와 국민생활안전관리에 이르기까지 소방의 역할이 증대되고 있다. 또한 국민들의 안전과 소방에 대한 양적 및 질적 요구가 증대되고 있어 앞으로 소방의 역할 범위는 더욱 더 확대될 것으로 생각된다. 이렇듯 최근 우리나라에서 소방의 역할이 증대됨에 따라 소방정책을 보다 효율적으로 수행하기 위해서 국민의 적극적인 협력과 지지가 매우 필요하다. 국민들이 인식하고 있는 소방의 이미지는 다양한 소방정책의 추진에 있어 많은 영향을 미치기 때문에 현재 우리나라 국민들은 소방에 대하여 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 객관적으로 파악해 볼 필요가 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 언어 네트워크 방법론을 활용하여 대학생들이 생각하고 있는 소방의 이미지는 어떠한지를 살펴봄으로써, 이를 통해 향후 소방이 어떻게 변모해야 하는지에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.

Before the contemporary society, fire fighting organizations were mainly demanded to play the role of fire suppression, but today, the roles of fire fighting are being diversified from fire suppression and prevention to rescue and first aid, disaster management, and people’s life safety control. In response to increasing demands for people’s safety and quantitatively and qualitatively improved fire services, what is more, the scope of fire services is expected to expand further. Given such expanded roles of fire fighting in Korea, people’s active cooperation and support are essential for the efficient implementation of fire fighting policies. Because how people perceive the image of fire fighting has a crucial impact on the promotion of various fire fighting policies, we need to examine Korean people’s perception of fire fighting objectively. Thus, this study purposed to survey university students’ perception of the image of fire fighting through semantic network methodology and to provide basic information for setting the future direction of fire fighting.
