듀이의 Transaction 개념에 근거한 ‘배움중심수업’ 비판 : 분리와 소외를 넘어서 상황으로의 전환

Critique of ‘Learning-Centered Lesson’ based on Dewey’s ‘Transaction’ Concept: Transition from Separation and Alienation to Situation

정부 주도의 수업 정책이 교사의 삶에 녹아들지 못한 채 겉돌고 있으며, 최근 유행하고 있는 ‘배움중심수업’ 역시 상황은 마찬가지다. 연구자는 배움중심수업의 핵심 원리인 ‘학습자 중심’과 ‘상호작용’이 가지고 있는 한계점을 철학적으로 분석하여 그 안에 ‘혼동과 소외’, ‘상호작용의 왜곡’이 있다는 것을 증명하고, 이를 극복하기 위한 방법으로서 Dewey의 ‘Transaction’과 ‘상황중심수업’을 제시하였다. 상황중심수업은 수업의 특정 요소를 상황과 분리하여 강조하는 문제점을 극복하여 교사를 비롯한 다른 주체 요소와, 가르침을 비롯한 다른 행위 요소가 소외되지 않는 수업이다. 이러한 상황중심수업을 구현할 수 있는 원리로서 (ⅰ) 통합, (ⅱ) 소통, (ⅲ) 총체적 재구성의 원리를 제시하였다. 연구자의 이러한 시도는 결국 교사의 ‘통합적 안목’을 기르는 데 목적이 있으며, 정부주도의 수업정책이 가지고 있는 한계점을 극복할 수 있는 하나의 대안이 되기를 기대한다.

The government-led teaching policy has repeatedly been separated from the teacher s life, and the recent trend of learning-centered lesson is the same. I have philosophically analyzed the limitations of the core principles of learning-centered classes, learners-centered and interaction , proving that there are problems in them: confusing and alienating and distorting of interactions and suggested transaction and situation-centered lesson by Dewey as a way to overcome them. A situation-centered lesson is a class where teachers and other principal elements, ncluding teaching, and other behavioral factors are not excluded by overcoming the problem of emphasizing certain elements of the lesson separately from the situation. As the principle of implementing these situation-centered classes, the principle of (i) integration beyond separation, (ii) communication beyond emphasis, and (iii) the principle of overall reorganization beyond the reconstruction of the curriculum was presented. This attempt by researchers is ultimately aimed at fostering a integrated eye for teachers and hopes to be an alternative to overcoming the limitations of government-led teaching policies.
