아랍어-한국어 기계번역의 오류 유형 및 해결방안

This study aims at a comparison of human translation and machine translation, focusing on the visual verb in chapter Adham in ‘ˀAwlād Ḥāratinā’(1959) by Najīb Maḥfūẓ. Through the comparison, this study finds the errors of machine translation and suggests its solutions. Korean and Arabic have different linguistic features and sentence structure. So, it is not easy to translate machine translation from Arabic to Korean. This study classifies the errors of representative machine translation that appear mainly on the visual verb in ‘ˀAwlād Ḥāratinā’ as follows; Errors in contextual understanding, polysemy, missing content, idiomatic sentence, cultural vocabulary, etc. Continued technological advances in machine translation may improve the current limitations. Therefore, the results of this study are limited to specific time points.
