브레히트의 ‘생산’ 개념 연구

A Study on Brecht’s Concept ‘Production’

본 논문은 브레히트의 생산개념을 연구하는 작업이다. 브레히트의 생산 개념은 아주 광범위한 영역에서 확대 적용되어진다. 브레히트의 생산 개념에는 물질적 생산 뿐 아니라, 자유, 정의 등이 포함되고 더 나아가 선한 의지와 타인에게 도움이 되는 자세 및 도움이 되고자 하는 자세도 포함된다. 브레히트는 이렇게 확대된 생산 개념을 표현하는 데 ‘친절’이라는 용어를 사용한다. 브레히트가 특별한 의미를 부여하는 친절이라는 단어에는 벼농사나 기계 제작과 같은 생산 활동도 포함된다. 이러한 맥락에서 볼 때, 모든 생산력을 모든 속박으로부터 해방시키려는 투쟁은 인간의 선의 및 친절이 가능한 사회를 실현하기 위한 노력이라 할 수 있을 것이다. 브레히트의 생산 개념에 대한 연구는 오늘날 신자유주의의 상황에서 많은 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이라 생각한다. 신자유주의 체제의 극심한 경쟁 하에서 일자리가 불안한 많은 사람들에게 노동은 생존을 위한 수단이 되어 버렸고, 몇 년 전 지하철 안전문을 수리하다 죽은 소년의 예에서 나타난 바 와 같이 생존을 위한 노동을 하면서 생명을 잃는 상황에까지 이르렀다. 본 연구에서 규명된 브레히트의 생산 개념은 자발성을 바탕으로 한 노동으로 자아실현과 행복한 사회화의 과정을 내포한다. 신자유주의 체제하에서 사람들은 극심한 경쟁과 불안감 속에서 강요된 노동을 하면서 서로에게 무관심하거나 적대적인 존재가 될 수밖에 없으며, 이러한 상황 속에서 브레히트의 생산 개념은 인간이 서로에게 친구가 될 수 있는 사회상을 만드는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

As the IMF economic crisis broke out, Korea underwent a lot of economic and social changes, and our everyday life also suffered many bumps. Now, we live in the world of so-called ‘infinite competition’, which is dominated by the logic of the market and capital. This Phenomenon of infinite competition has been deepened in the process of neoliberal globalization. Neoliberalism has the advantage of maximizing the profit of capital based on the market logic, but it has the problem that it deepens the polarization by the infinite competition. In this situation, neo-liberalism, which seeks to maximize the interests of capital, does not raise questions about human values or true human relations, and therefore does not give the answers. In this situation, we must strive to provide a new vision for an alternative to our society, which respects true human relationships and human values. In this work, we have studied the concept of production in Brecht s works. Through this study, I think that we will be able to provide a new plan that can help design an alternative to contemporary society in which human beings are hostile or indifferent to each other in a fierce competition. Brecht s concept Production will contribute to envision a new society in which we are helpful to one another.
