조금 과장해서 이야기하자면 지금은 온라인시대다. 많은 사람들은 온라인을 통해 문화를 유통시키고 향유하고 있다. 특히 문화, 예술, 오락, 콘텐츠 등의 산만한 이름으로 표현되고 있는 다양한 즐길 거리들은 온라인에서 그 어떤 미디어의 시대보다도 풍성한 상차림으로 대중들에게 나서고 있다. 지난 시절, 라디오스타, 티브이스타가 있었다면 이제는 UCC스타 혹은 유튜브스타가 있다. 이제 많은 사람들은 유튜브를 통해 스타가 되고 있으며 그보다 훨씬 더 많은 사람들이 스타가 되기 위해 유튜브로 몰려들고 있다. 유튜브는 온라인이 주도하는 새로운 문화적 흐름의 대표가 되어가고 있다. 이러한 변화는 음악의 경우에도 마찬가지여서 유튜브를 통해 스타로 성장하는 이들이 속속 등장하고 있는 중이다. 새롭게 스타로 성장한 음악인 가운데 가장 돋보이는 존재가 있다면 그것은 바로 한국의 소년 기타 연주자인 정성하가 될 것이다. 온라인에서의 그의 유명세는 한국뿐만 아니라 글로벌 무대에서도 최고 수준을 유지하고 있다. 그는 유튜브에서의 인기를 바탕으로 2010년 현재 한국에서 가장 사랑받는 연주자로 성장하였다. 한편, 음악 비평의 문화 역시 온라인을 통해서 매우 활발해졌다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재 한국에서 가장 인기가 높고 실력도 상당한 이 소년 연주자에 대한 음악 비평은 거의 전무하다시피하다. 아마도 비평 업자들이 음반을 중심으로 비평을 수행해 왔던 온라인 이전시대의 관습에 길들여져 있고 또 그 보수적인 구조 안에 안주해 왔기 때문일 것이다. 이 글은 유튜브를 통해 스타로 성장해 나가고 있는 뛰어난 소년 기타 연주자에 대한 음악사회적 소통을 위해 작은 이정표를 하나 세우는 초보적 비평인 동시에 라디오스타 시절의 비평 관습에서 좀처럼 벗어나지 않고 있는 보수적인 비평 업자들의 관행에 일정한 환기 작용을 수행하고자 하는 목적으로 작성되었다.

Speaking a little bit exaggerating, the present-day is the online era. Many people are sharing and enjoying various cultural contents through online. Various cultural contents are represented by the name of such distracting culture, arts, entertainment, contents etc. in Korea. These has been profusely provided to the public through the online than any other media era. If there were radio stars and TV stars in old days, now there are YouTube stars or UCC stars. Many people have now become a star on YouTube and a lot more people are flocking YouTube to become a star. YouTube is becoming the leading online representative of a new cultural context. These changes also apply to the music society. Some people grow into a star on YouTube. If we have to pick up a most outstanding musician who has grown up to be a new star, that is just the Korean boy guitarist, named Jung Sungha. His online fame has maintained the highest level at the global stage as well as in South Korea. He has grown into the most beloved performer now here in South Korea, based with the popularity on YouTube. Meanwhile, the music reviewers also became very active through online. Nevertheless, the great popularity and the high level of playing, there are no reviewers who have interest about this boy guitarist. Perhaps the reviewers have long been trained in the old custom that they used to write reviews focusing on tape and disc. And they have stayed long within the conservative frame. This is the basic review for outstanding boy guitarist who has grown into a star on YouTube and tries to help the reviewers breaking away from the old custom.
