This study investigated purposes, methods and procedures that Korean English teachers have and use in their classroom assessment with a self-report questionnaire and interview. The present study found out that teachers purposes of classroom assessment are student-oriented rather than instructional. Regarding assessment methods, teachers preferred traditional methods to alternative methods for reading and listening. As for procedures, it was found that the items and tasks made by the teachers themselves are the main source of classroom assessment and oral feedback is the most common form of feedback provided to students.
