機能的談話文法における日本語の文法記述に向けて

Towards a Grammatical Description of Japanese within Functional Discourse Grammar

現代言語&#23398;では&#27096;&#12293;な文法理論が提唱されているが、それらは形式的アプロ&#12540;チと機能的アプロ&#12540;チに大別される。その中で、&#20001;者の中間に位置し、近年、精力的に&#30740;究がすすんでいる理論の一つに機能的談話文法(Functional Discourse Grammar: FDG)がある。FDGは類型論への指向性を&#24375;く持つため、日本語を含む幅&#24195;い言語のデ&#12540;タをもとに理論の構築がなされてきた。しかし、FDGを直接的に日本語のデ&#12540;タに適用する試みはまだなされていない。このような&#29366;況を踏まえ、本稿では、FDGの&#27010;略を日本語のデ&#12540;タをもとに整理し、同&#26528;組みが日本語の文法記述に有益であることを示す。具&#20307;的には、FDGが&#20206;定する<&#23550;人レベル>(Interpersonal Level)を取り上げ、その表示を踏まえることで、&#27096;&#12293;な現象(例えば、「要点をまとめると」と「要するに」の&#23550;比、格助詞の非規範的な使用、ぼかし言葉、ゼロ項述語、「激しく」の正確性指標用法)が記述できると主張する。

Various grammatical frameworks have so far been put forward in contemporary linguistics, and they are largely divided into formal and functional approaches. An intermediate position between the two camps is occupied by Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG), a typologically-oriented, structural-functional theory of language. The framework has been developed based on the examinations of a wide variety of linguistic phenomena in a number of languages, including Japanese. Still, no attempt has ever been made to specifically apply the FDG model to Japanese. In the present article, I outline the FDG model against some Japanese examples and show that the framework is beneficial for the grammatical description of Japanese. More specifically, I examine the so-called “Interpersonal Level” within FDG, arguing that this level of analysis captures a wide array of grammatical phenomena, including differences between youten-o matomeru to ‘to sum up’ and yousuruni ‘in short,’ “bokashi”-language, and hageshiku as an exactness marker, among other things.
