The emotion of Proletarian Literature, Women, and Structure of Rebuilding the Boundary between the Public and Private Domain -Focusing on Kang Kyeong-ae’s Literature

이 글은 강경애 문학에 나타난 공/사 경계 재구축의 구조에 주목했다. 카프(KAPF)의 남성 작가들은 공/사의 명확한 경계 속에서 공적 영역의 중요성을 강조했다. 노동 계급 중심의 사회주의 문화 운동을 추동하며, 가정으로 대표되는 사적 영역은 배제한 것이다. 강경애는 보통의 프로소설과 다르게 공적 영역으로 비약하지 않고 사적 영역을 끈질기게 탐색한다. 이를 통해 제국 일본의 폭력과 남성 주체의 폭력에 노출되어 있었던 당대 여성들의 계급적 위치를 가시화하는 성과를 거두었다. ｢소금｣에서 확인되는 바와 같이, 강경애 소설의 주인공은 사적 영역에 남아 이중폭력을 견디고 마주하며 그 실체를 폭로하는 것이다. 강경애 소설에서 이 과정은‘사랑’의 시간으로 표현된다. 강경애가 『인간문제』에서 분노가 아니라 사랑을 가시화하는 이유는 여기에 있다. 사적 영역에서 자기의 삶을 응시하며 성찰하는 시간을 표현하기에 사랑이 적합했던 것이다.

This article focused on the structure of rebuilding the boundary between the public and private domain presented in Kang Kyung-ae’s literature. Male writers at KAPF emphasized the importance of the public sphere within the clear boundaries between public and private. It drives socialist cultural movement with working class and excludes the private sphere represented by the family. Unlike ordinary professional novels, Kang Kyung-ae does not leap into the public domain but persistently explores the private domain. This resulted in the visualization of the class position of women of the time who were exposed to the violence of Japanese empire and violence of male subjects. As confirmed in “Sogeum”, the main characters of Kang Kyung-ae’s novel remains in the private realm, enduring and facing double violence, and revealing the reality. In Kang Kyung-ae’s novel, this process is expressed as the time of love. This is why Kang Kyung-ae makes visible love, not anger, in InganMunje. Love was suitable to express the time of staring and reflecting on one’s life in the private realm.
