이 글은 재조대장경 『金光明最勝王經』 권제2에 기입되어 있는 13세기 각필 부호의 실체를 정밀 분석한 것이다. 『금광명최승왕경』 각필 부호의 종류는 크게 선과 점, 삐침, 체크 등의 4가지 형태로 분류할 수 있다. 이들 부호들의 총 개수는 약 1,073개로 이 부호들이 차지하는 비율은 선이 12%, 점 76%, 삐침 11%, 체크 및 기타가 1%이다. 『금광명최승왕경』에 새겨진 체크 형태의 부호와 겹사선 부호, 그리고 다양한 부호들이 새겨진 동일한자의 용례를 골라서 비교 분석한 결과 『금광명최승왕경』 권제2에 새겨진 부호들은 경전의 의미를 정확히 파악하게 하는 표기 부호일 가능성이 매우 크다는 사실을 확인하였다.
This paper precisely examines the substance of gakpil marks in the thirteenth century typed in 『Golden Light of the Most Victorious Kings Sutra』 Volume 2 of Jaejo Daejanggyeong in Goryeo, which is the rare and valuable copy. The kinds of gakpil marks in 『Golden Light of the Most Victorious Kings Sutra』 are classified into four types such as lines, dots, tapered lines, and checks. The total number of these marks are about 1,073 items and the share of these marks is 12 percent of lines, 76 percent of dots, 11 percent of tapered lines, and 1 percent of checks and the others. The results of comparing the carved different marks on the same Chinese character in the original copy confirm that they are likely to be the ordering marks of Seokdok to realize the meaning of Chinese vocabularies and sentences.
