A Study on the Use of Dental Institutions and Satisfaction of Dental Service Among Foreigners

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to understand the status of foreigners’ use of dental institutions and satisfaction with dental service. It will be used as basic data for providing customized dental services and improving service quality for foreigners. Methods: A survey was conducted on 210 foreigners residing in Haeundae-gu, Busan, from November 1, 2018 to February 20, 2019. The data were analyzed by a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation on SPSS WIN 20.0. Results: Cost satisfaction was significantly positively correlated with location (r=0.234) and customer service (r=0.245). Facility satisfaction was significantly positively correlated with sterilization (r=0.611), customer service (r=0.590), and communication (r=0.268). Conclusions: Therefore, it can be used as basic data for providing customized dental services for foreigners and improving service quality by identifying the actual use of dentistry by foreigners and checking their degree of dental care satisfaction. Nonetheless, a representative study for foreigners living in various regions will be necessary in future research
