A Study on Improvements of Braille and Reverse Translation Programs

본 연구는 텍스트에서 점자로 점자에서 텍스트로의 점역 및 역점역 프로그램의 개선을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 4개의 점자번역프로그램을 분석하고 두 명의 점역사 면담을 실시하였다. 각 프로그램은 시각장애인과 시각장애인을 돕는 사람들을 위해 다양한 특징을 가지고 있다. 하지만 아직까지는 프로그램에 문제점들이 많은 것이 사실이다. 통합 점자번역 프로그램에 필요한 개선 사항을 최종적으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of the study was to suggest improvements of braille and reverse translation programs from text to braille and from braille to text. Four braille translation programs were analyzed. Each of them had different features for people with visual disabilities and people who support them. Some problems and difficulties to use the programs were specified through an interview with two braille translators who reviewed the four programs independently. The improvements needed for an integrated braille translation program were suggested at the end.
