The main purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of incorporating computer-assisted courseware language learning in developing pronunciation and fluency among young English learners. The Reading Assistant program, a computer-assisted English learning courseware, was used to enhance the pronunciation and fluency of the participants. They practiced their English reading with the given courseware at home and interacted with a Korean instructor online once a week for correcting errors during their study as a type of blended-learning. One of them was a 10-year-old girl, a beginner in English residing out side the city area. The other was an elementary school student living in a city, Jeon-ju. He was above the intermediate level in English compared to other students his age. The girl used this courseware for 14 months before this study commenced. She developed her reading fluency and accuracy through this courseware. The other student also developed his English reading in pronunciation and fluency for nine months before this study. Both the students were searched through a computer study managing system (LMS-Learning management system) by a Korean instructor who corrected their mistakes once a week. With the help of this courseware, they became confident English readers. When a student is well-motivated and confident in a subject, when given a chance, they can develop their interest in the subject and excel in the related fields. After this case study, well-designed English education coursewares can be introduced and used for private study and public classrooms. Further, various kinds of coursewares are expected to develop for various kinds of personal study.
