A Study on the Interaction between Technical Composition and Technological Learning

This study aims to explain the integrated model of the sociological study of technology and the economic study of technological learning. It is argued that the sociological approaches to innovation have strongly criticized technological determinism, but are weak in explaining how the knowledge base for innovation is accumulated. On the contrary, the economical approaches to innovation have thoroughly explained the process of technology accumulation, but have ignored the political process of innovation. This study suggests a model that integrates both the political process and technological learning process based on the coevolution of technology and society.
