대학교수 대상 수업컨설팅이 교수행동의 중요도와 실천도에 미치는 효과

The Effects of Instructional Consulting on Perceived Importance and Actual Behavior of University Professors’ Instructional Behaviors

본 연구는 광역시 소재 G대학교의 교수 82명을 대상으로 수업컨설팅의 효과와 수업컨설팅이 교수행동에 미친 중요성 인식과 실천도에의 차이점을 분석했다. 자료수집은 2018년 9월 1일부터 15일까지 약 2주 동안 온라인 설문을 통해 실시했다. 첫째, 수업컨설팅이 수업개선에 효과적이었는가에 대해 교수들은 72.3%가 효과적이거나 매우 효과적이라고 응답했다. 둘째, 교수행동의 중요도와 실천도 간의 차이에 있어서는 ‘수업준비’, ‘수업구조화’, ‘동기유발, ’수업에의 열정‘ 의 모든 영역에서 중요도가 실천도보다 높은 점수를 보였고 이는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이였다. 셋째, 수업컨설팅 참여여부에 따른 교수행동의 중요도는 통계적인 유의한 차이가 없었지만, 교수행동의 실천도에 있어서는 수업컨설팅 참여집단과 비참여 집단 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 수업컨설팅에 참여한 교수들은 참여하지 않은 교수들보다 ‘새로운 교수방법의 적용’, ‘수업도입에서 전 시간 학습내용 리뷰’, ‘학습자 참여수업실시’에서 더 높은 실천도 평균을 보였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 대학에서의 새로운 수업컨설팅의 모델이 될 수 있는 교수공동체 중심의 수업컨설팅 도입을 시사점으로 제공하였다.

This study analyzed the effects of instructional consulting on the difference between perceived importance and actual behavior regarding instructor’s instructional behavior. The participants of the study was 82 instructors at G University as a case of the study. Data collection was implemented by an online survey of about two weeks from September 1 to 15, 2018. The results of the study were: first, 72.3% of the participants indicated that instructional consulting was effective or very effective for improving their instruction. Second, regarding the difference between the perceived importance and actual behavior of instructional behavior, all four areas -class preparation, instructional design, motivation, passion for class- were significantly different: perceived importance were higher than actual behavior. Third, there was no significantly difference in the perceived importance of instructional behavior according to the participation of instructional consulting. However, there was a significantly difference between participants in the instructional behaviors: instructional consulting participation group showed a larger degree of actual behavior in three behavior items: 1) the application of the new teaching method, 2) the review of previous class in the class introduction, and 3) the implementation of the learner-oriented class. The results of this study suggested that the teaching community-oriented instructional consulting will be conducted in the future.
