대구 지역어의 모음 /ㅡ/와 /ㅓ/에 대한 사회음성학적인 연구

The Sociophonetics Study on the Vowel /ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ of Daegu Dialect

본 논문은 기존에 음운론적으로 합류되었다고 알려진 대구 지역어의 단모음 ㅡ와 ㅓ의 발음 양상의 연령대별 차이를 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 실험음성학적인 논의에 따르면, 대구 지역어의 모음체계는 연령대별로 발음양상에 차이가 있다. 대구지역어에서 구분하지 못한다고 알려진 단모음 /ㅡ/와 /ㅓ/의 경우, 20대와 30대는 이 두 단모음을 구별하며, 40대 이상은 연령대와 발화형식에 따라 /ㅡ/와 /ㅓ/를 비구별 또는 혼동하고 있다. 본 연구의 결과, 최근 들어 분화의 양상을 보이고 있는 대구 지역어의 모음/ㅡ/와 /ㅓ/는 자유 발화의 억양구 중간과 말의 위치에서 50대와 60대를 제외한 전 연령대가 구별하는 것으로 나타났으나 그 구별의 정도가 연령대와 발화형식에 따라 차이가 있었다. 이는 모음 간의 안정적인 구간을 유지하려는 모음의 속성과도 연관이 있는 것으로 보인다.

This study purposes to discuss on difference between simple vowel /ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ of Daegu dialect by ages. The /ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ of Daegu dialect is known as merged vowels. Follow existing discussion of the experimental phonetics, The vowel system of Daegu dialect has a difference vowel space by ages. The 20’s and 30’s are distinguish /ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ of Daegu dialect in the vowel space. But in over the 40’s merged / ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ in the Intonational phrase medial and Intonational phrase final position. These results are evidence that in Daegu dialect they were originally already merged. As a result, The 20’s, 30’s and 40’s are distinguish /ㅡ/ and /ㅓ/ in the vowel space of the Daegu dialect except the 50’s and 60’s. But there are difference as the degree of distinction by ages and speech style.
