이 연구의 목적은 상담학과 학부생의 통일 미래에 대한 인식과 필요한 교육에 대한 요구를 탐색하는 것이다. 상담학과 학부생의 통일 미래에 대한 인식을 탐색함으로써 통일 미래 상담자로서 필요한 교육에 대한 요구를 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 경상남도 A, B시의 상담학과 학부생 10명을 대상으로 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 실시하였다. FGI는 반구조화된 질문으로 2회에 걸쳐 1시간 ∼ 1시간 30분 동안 진행되었으며, 자료수집, 전사, 핵심 단어 찾기, 주요 내용 범주화, 결과 해석 과정을 거쳐 결과를 도출하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 상담학과 학부생은 통일 미래를 대비할 필요가 있으며, 그에 따른 교육이 필요함을 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 통일 미래를 대비한 상담학과 교육은 통일 미래에 대한 인식 교육, 북한 사람 심리에 대한 연구, 북한 사람을 위한 상담 기법 및 실무교육, 북한사람을 위한 전담상담자 양성교육, 북한인 상담자 양성교육이 필요할 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 요인들이 실현되기 위해서는 상담학과 대학 정규과정과 학회를 통해 상담에 대한 교육과 연구가 필요할 것으로 보았으며, 타 학문과의 연계가 필요할 것으로 보았다. 이 연구는 상담학과 학부생의 통일 미래에 대한 인식을 통해 필요한 교육을 탐색함으로써 학부생의 통일 미래에 대한 관심을 증대시키고 통일 미래를 대비해 나가야 할 중심세대이자 미래세대 인 학부생의 역할을 환기시키고 통일 미래를 대비한 상담학과 학부생의 교육에 기초적인 자료를 제공하였다는 것에 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the perception of counseling major undergraduates on the future of unification and their needs for education. By exploring the perception of counselling major undergraduates on of the future of unification, the study was aimed to review the needs for education as a future unification counselors. For this purpose, FGI (Focus Group Interview) was conducted for 10 undergraduate students in counseling department in A and B city of Gyeongsangnam-do. FGI was conducted for 1 or 1 and a half hours with two semi-structured questions, and the results were drawn through data collection, transcription, key words finding, main contents categorization, and results analysis. The results showed that, first, undergraduates in counseling department recognized that they need to prepare for the future of unification and that associated education is necessary. Second, counseling education required for the future of unification include awareness boosting education for the future of unification, research on North Korean psychology, counseling techniques and practical education for North Korean people, training for dedicated counselors for North Korean people, and training for North Korean counselors. In order to realize these requirements, it would be necessary to educate and study counseling through regular courses and academic societies of counseling department and university, and it would be necessary to build connection to other disciplines. This study is meaningful in that it explored the necessary education through the recognition of undergraduates majoring counseling on the unification future and raised their interest in the unification future. It also provided basic data for the education of undergraduates in counseling to prepare for the unification future and to strengthen their roles as future generations.
