Faith in the Union with Christ and its Homiletical Appropriation: Modality of the Ideal Texts, Author and Reader in Calvin’s Sacramental Faith of Preaching

본 논문은 시모어 채트먼(Seymour Chatman)과 존 오스틴(John L. Austin)의 언어철학을 통하여 칼빈의 성례전적 설교이해를 살펴보려고 한다. 논문에서 제시되는 성례전적 설교에 대한 믿음은 서사의 구조, 명제적 언어관 그리고 수행적 언어관에 대한 연구를 통해 검증할 것이다. 이 과정에서 이상적인 본문성이 가진 방법론과 용어의 이해는 성경의 전유와 관련된 개혁주의 설교 유산의 신학적 함의를 제공한다. 하나님의 살아계신 음성과 임재는 개혁주의 설교신학의 중요한 유산이며, 개혁주의 설교신학이 추구하는 설교의 시작점은 정경 내포 저자가 만들어가는 내포된 독자 공동체와의 조우로 설명된다.

This article will explore the philosophy of language at Seymour Chatman and John L. Austin as a potential hermeneutical exercise for appropriating biblical passages in Calvin s sacramental view of preaching. In the light of this determinative view, we shall offer a brief survey of the methods and terminologies associated with the narrative structure, propositional linguistic view and performative linguistic view. These linguistic philosophy in ideal texts have helped to shape these alternative views and methods in the hermeneutical appropriation of canonical reading in preached text. It will show how these insights service to the Reformed homiletics legacy. There is nothing for the preaching to become the living voice of God and its present, until the preacher encounters the canonical implied author and its implied reading community in the Scripture.
