학생자치활동의 초등 정치교육적 함의

Elementary Political Educational Implications of Student Self-Governing Activity : Focused on Students Political Attitudes changing

본 연구는 초등학생의 자치활동경험이 정치적 태도변화에 미치는 영향과 그 정치교육적 함의를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한 학기 동안 학생자치활동을 실시하는 초등학교 6학년 A학급과 실시하지 않는 B학급의 정치적 태도변화를 조사하여 비교분석하였다. 연구결과 학생자치활동 실시 후 내적 정치 효능감, 체제기반 정치 신뢰감, 정치참여에서 A학급이 B학급에 비하여 높은 정치적 태도가 형성되었다. 또한 학급의 임원이 모든 정치적 태도영역에서 비 임원보다 높은 정치적 태도를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과가 초등 정치교육에 주는 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 자치활동경험은 내적 정치 효능감, 체제기반 정치 신뢰감, 정치참여에 유의미한 영향을 줄 수 있기에 이를 반영한 정치교육이 고려되어야 한다. 둘째, 학생자치활동의 경험이 누적될수록 학생들의 자발적인 정치참여의 태도가 형성된다. 셋째, 학생자치활동에서 정치적 갈등과 대립에 대한 교육이 요구된다. 넷째. 학생자치활동이 임원과 비 임원 구분 없는 모두의 활동으로 거듭나야 한다. 다섯째, 학생자치활동이 학생들의 실제 삶에 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 교사의 배려가 요구된다.

The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of elementary school students self-governing experience on the change of political attitude and to understand the political educational implications. This study analyzed the change in political attitudes of class A, which conducts student self-government activities, and class B, which did not. As a result, Class A and Class B, which showed similar political attitudes before conducting student self-government activities, changed to A higher political attitude after the implementation of student self-government activities. In conclusion, the self-government activities of students have a significant influence on internal political efficacy, system-based political confidence, and political participation. and Consideration should be given to students so that the outcomes produced through the student autonomy process can affect the students real lives.
