중학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도, 그릿, 학습된 무기력의 관계

Structural Relationship among Parenting Attitude, Grit, and Academic Helplessness

본 연구에서는 중학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 자신의 그릿 및 학습된 무기력의 구조적 관계를 탐색하고, 양육태도와 학습된 무기력 사이의 관계를 그릿이 매개하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 또한 이러한 관계가 학업성취 수준에 따라 다르게 나타나는지 검증해보고자 하였다. 한국아동·청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 2018의 중1 패널 1차 년도 자료를 제공받아 사용하였으며, 다집단 분석을 목적으로 1,519명(상위집단 1,159명, 하위집단 360명)의 응답자료만을 최종분석에 포함하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 양육태도와 학습자의 그릿 및 학습된 무기력의 구조적관계는 전체집단과 상위집단이 유사한 패턴을 보였으나, 하위집단에서는 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 그릿의 매개효과는 전체집단에서 긍정 양육태도와 부정 양육태도 각각에 대해 유의하였으며 상위집단의 경우에는 부정 양육태도에서 유의하였다. 한편, 하위집단은 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 학업성취 수준에 따른 다집단 분석 결과는 부정 양육태도에서 그릿에 이르는 경로가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 부모의 양육태도, 그릿, 학습된 무기력의 관계에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating effect of academic achievement level in structural relation among parenting attitude, grit, and academic helplessness. Data were obtained from the Middle School 1st-grade students of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018. The data of 1,519 middle school 1st-grade students(1,159 from high level and 360 from low level in perceived academic achievement) were used in the final analysis. Descriptive statistics, SEM analysis, Bootstrapping, and Multiple-group analysis were performed by using SPSS 23.0 and Mplus 5.21. The main results are as follows. First, significant mediation effect of grit between negative parenting attitude and academic helplessness was found in the high level unlike in the low level group. Second, significant difference was found between two groups in the path from negative parenting attitude to grit. There were negative effects both levels regardless of achievement level in that path. The path coefficient of negative parenting attitude to grit in the low level was higher than the high level group.
