고교학점제의 안정적 정착을 위한 학교 구성원의 역할 분석

An analysis on the role of school members for stable settlement of the High School Credit System

본 연구는 고교학점제의 안정적 정착을 위한 교장, 담임교사, 학부모의 역할 분석을 목적으로 하며, 이를 위해 고교학점제 및 고교학점제 정착을 위한 학교 구성원 역할 관련 선행 연구를 고찰한 후 고교학점제에 대한 학교 구성원의 고교학점제 이해 정도와 인식, 고교학점제가 안정적으로 정착되기 위한 학교 구성원의 역할을 중심으로 전국 시범학교 교장, 교사, 학부모 15명과 초점집단면담(FGI)을 실시하였다. Strauss와 Corbin의 질적 연구 분석 방법을 준용하여 분석한 주요 면담 결과를 정리하면, 교장의 경우 ① 고교학점제 인식 및 이해 제고를 위한 리더십 발휘, ② 학교 구성원 간 의사소통 경로 마련과 신뢰 관계 구축 역할, ③ 교육과정 전문성 및 수업 혁신을 위한 전문가학습공동체 활성화에서 적극적 역할 등으로 요약될 수 있으며, 담임교사 역할로는 ① 학생들의 상담가 역할, ② 교육과정 전문가로서 학습 컨설턴트 역할 수행 필요 등이 제시되었다. 학교교육 공동체의 일원으로서 학부모의 역할로는 ① 자녀와의 소통을 통한 자녀교육 책임 및 교육과정 이수에 대한 책임감 강화, ② 고교학점제 인식 제고 및 불신 해소 등으로 범주화할 수 있다. 이상의 분석 결과에 기초하여 본 연구는 학교 구성원의 고교학점제 인식 전환과 적극적 참여 여건 조성을 위한 교장의 리더십 발휘, 학교 구성원 간 신뢰관계 구축과 활성화의 촉진자 역할 수행을 위한 교장 직무연수 시행, 학교 단위의 전문가학습공동체의 공식조직화 또는 비공식조직화 등을 정책적 시사점으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the roles of principals, homeroom teachers, and parents for the stable settlement of the High School Credit System (HSCS). For this purpose, this research reviewed the previous studies regarding both the HSCS and the role of school members for implementing the HSCS, and FGI was conducted with 15 participants. The results are as follows: First, the principal s roles are to relieve anxiety of students and parents for the HSCS, to establish trust relationships among school members, and to play an active role in activating a professional learning community (PLC) for the HSCS; Second, the homeroom teachers’ role can be summarized as a student’s counselor and a learning consultant; and third, the parents’ roles can be categorized into communication with their children, participation in decision making, and the formation of collaborative relationships with school teachers. This study presented policy implications such as the principal’s leadership to change the perception of the HSCS and the implementation of principal job training to fulfill the role of facilitator. Also, the study presented formal or informal organizing of the PLC at the school level.
