During the Joseon Dynasty, Saheonbu, the Office of the Inspector General, had a system called ‘Dasi’, which is drinking tea everyday while working. The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, official and most authorized literature during Joseon dynasty contain 38 records of ‘Dasi’. This signifies that ‘Dasi’ maintained the order and discipline of a county by sharing the 500 years history of the Joseon dynasty. The Office of the Inspector General had gone through strict self-management and assisted the king with a fair attitude. The king respected his subjects’ decisions and governed the country based on them. In addition, ‘Dasi’ was a solemn and official affair, but also an open space where the public can raise their concerns. Therefore, ‘Dasi’ is a sophisticated tea culture that well applied the spirit of tea.
