A Study on the Seafarers Subsidies for the Sustainable Business on Korean Shipping

This study is about securing Korean Young Seafarers to maintain shipping as a sustainable Business. Sustainable shipping companies require much efforts to reduce profit uncertainty and to generate profits and reduce costs. In particular, seafarers, who are an important production elements of shipping, should be secured. In developed countries, the involvement of domestic seafarers is reduced due to the improvement of income level and quality of life. To pursue the establishment of the cabotage and the continuous development of shipping , it is necessary for the young seafarers to enter freely ,and we should secure the excellent and competitive manpower. In this study, a subsidy was proposed as a public policy to attract more Seafarers.
