朝鮮 後期 方眼式 郡縣地圖의 제작과 『東國地圖』 제7책

The Production of the District Maps with Grid System during the Late Joseon Dynasty, and Dongguk-jido (Map of the Eastern State)

조선 후기 20리 방안식 군현지도의 제작과 관련하여 『동국지도』 제7책 (함경도 군현지도집)은 국립중앙도서관 소장 『동국지도』 제3책 (경상도 군현지도집)과 같이, 현존하는 지도 중 가장 이른 시기에 제작된 지도로 판단된다. 해안선과 도서, 산줄기와 물줄기를 정밀하게 표현하였으며 이에 화려한 채색을 더함으로써, 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원 소장 『조선지도』 등 현존하는 어떤 20리 방안식 고을지도에 비해서도 완성도가 높다. 이로 미루어 『동국지도』 제7책은 1770년 신경준이 제작하여 영조에게 바친 <列邑圖>의 실체에 가장 근접한 지도로 추정된다.

Volume 7 of Donggukjido(Map of the Eastern State) can be argued to have the earliest district maps with 20 ri grid system in the latter half period of the Joseon dynasty. This map book, which has maps of districts of Hamgyeong-do province depicted coastline, mountain range, and islands in detail and painted mountain range and river colorfully. These evidences show that this map book is very close to Yeoleup-do (Map of Every District) dedicated to King Yeongjo by Sin Gyeong-jun in 1770.
