｢古今華夷區域摠要圖｣의 모사와 분석

A Study on Mapmaking of GuJin HuaYi QuYu ZongYao-Tu(Essential Map of Past and Present China and Barbarian Countries)

｢古今華夷區域摠要圖｣는 중국 송나라 때 稅安禮에 의해 간행된 중국에 남아 있는 가장 오래된 역사 지도책인『歷代地理指掌圖』에 수록된 여러 지도 중 첫 번째로 수록된 지도로서, 중국의 옛날과 지금의 세계(宋代)를 한 장에 그린 역사지도이다. 이 지도는 송나라 때의 행정구역을 나타내면서도 역사지도로서 중국 고대의 九州와 漢, 晉, 唐 대의 지명이 수록되어 있다. 표현된 범위로는 동쪽으로는 조선 만주와 일본에서 서쪽으로는 파미르고원에 이르는 서역지방과 남으로는 간략하게나마 동남아 제국과 인도까지를 아우르는 세계지도적인 성격도 갖추고 있다. ｢고금화이구역총요도｣는 중국의 지도사에서 중요한 위치를 가지고 지도사의 연구에 중요한 자료로 활용되고 있다. 여기서는 이 지도를 명확하게 새로 그리고 그 속에 수록된 여러 지명이 지금의 어디인지를 알아보고자 하였다.

｢GuJin HuaYi QuYu Zong Yao-Tu｣(Essential Map of Past and Present China and Barbarian Countries), the first map of the old Chinese atlas『Lidai Dili Zhi zhang tu』(Atlas of the Past Dynasties) published by Anli Shui in Sung dynasty, is a historical map describes both old and current China in one piece of map. This map describes administrative districts of ancient Nine Districts, Han dynasty, Jin period and Tang dynasty as well as Sung dynasty. The map covers vast area: Manchuria, Choseon and Japan in east, Pamir Mountains in west, India and Southeaster countries in south. The map has been used in various studies on Chinese history. In the present study, I investigated names of old districts in the map and matched place names in current China.
