In this study, I will analyze the light and colors expression in Ivan Bunin’s creative world and recognize the aesthetic meaning. In Russia, many researchers are interested in the expression of light and color in Bunin’s works. It is hoped that this study will provide a new perspective to understand Bunin s creative way, style and worldview. Bunin had a special interest in color throughout his life and loved painting. In particular, Bunin was interested in colors and paintings and wanted to embody the principles of paintings in his works by P. А. Nilus’s great influence. There are several professional painters in Bunin’s works, but the author pays much attention to their inner world, relationships and emotions. In general, the color description of the hero who appears as a narrator in the work is weak, and the main focus is on the female figure and nature. In the work, there are vivid impressionist features such as original color description, feast of light, nude genre, pursuit of unity of color, and fragmentary composition. In other words, the Bunin uses the color spectrum of nature and women most widely and variously. This divided color description is deeply related to the preference of impressionists who like to depict landscapes and figures in painting. Therefore, the principle of impressionism is reflected in the pictorial depiction embodied in Bunin’s prose.
