상담자 발달수준과 진로상담 역량의 관계

The Relationship Between Counselor Development Levels and Career Counselor Competency: Moderating Effects of Career Counseling Case Conceptualization Competency

본 연구에서는 상담자들을 대상으로 상담자 발달 수준과 진로상담 역량의 관련성을 살펴보고, 두 변인의 관계를 진로상담 사례개념화 역량(내담자 특성에 대한 이해, 가족에 대한 탐색, 직업세계에 대한 탐색, 상담목표 설정 및 개입)이 중재하는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 상담자 265명의 자료를 바탕으로 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석에 앞서 상담자의 인구통계학적 특성(경력, 기관)에서 주요 변인들의 평균 차이가 유의한지를 살펴보기 위해서 다변량 분산분석을 실시한 결과 심리상담 사례개념화 역량을 제외하고 집단에 따른 평균 차이가 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 회귀분석 결과, 심리상담 사례개념화 역량을 통제한 이후에도 상담자 발달 수준은 진로상담 역량을 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 상담자 발달수준이 높을수록 진로상담 역량 또한 증가하는 것을 알 수 있다. 한편, 진로상담 사례개념화 역량 중 진로상담 목표설정 및 개입은 상담자 발달수준과 진로상담 역량의 관계를 유의하게 강화시키는 것으로 나타났다.

The present study examined whether career counseling conceptualization moderated the association between counselor development status and career counseling competency. Data was collected through online and offline surveys from 265 counselors. Prior to the analysis, a multivariate ANOVA was used to see if the mean differences in key variables in the consultant s demographic characteristics (years of working, work place, etc.) were significant, indicating that the mean differences among groups were all significant except their ability to conceptualize psychological counseling cases. Even after controlling self-assessment of counseling conceptualization competency, the level of counselor development significantly predicted career counseling competency. In other words, the level of counselor development increased the career counseling capacity. Meanwhile, setting career counseling goals and intervening were shown to significantly strengthen the relationship between the development level of counselors and their career counseling competency. Based on these findings, implications for clinical practice and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
