생애사 연구를 통한 정신장애여성의 영농 직업재활 경험 이해

Understanding the farming vocational rehabilitation experience of women with mental disorder through a life history study

본 연구는 생애사 연구방법을 통해 정신장애여성의 삶의 현실과 영농직업재활경험을 깊이 이해하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 C도의 H농장 직업재활에 참여하고 있는 정신장애여성 3명을 심층 면접한 자료를 Mandelbaum이 제안한 삶의 영역, 전환점, 적응의 3가지 개념 틀로 분석하였다. 분석결과 연구 참여자들의 삶의 영역에서는 가족, 직장, 정신병원 및 요양시설, 직업재활 농장이 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 가족은 순종과 희생으로 지켜야하는 곳이며, 직장은 일찍부터 자립을 강요받고, 새로운 업무와 동료에 적응해야 하는 스트레스와 불안을 경험하고 버텨낸 곳이었다. 정신병원과 요양시설은 가족과 세상의 단절, 벗어날 수 없는 무기력의 경험이었지만, 사회적지지 경험과 재활프로그램 참여로 희망이 싹튼 곳이었다. 직업재활농장은 다시 세상과 연결되고 정신장애인이 아닌 다시 직장인의 경험이었고, 자녀를 다시 만날 희망을 경험하며, 증상이 있어도 일할 수 있다는 회복을 경험한 곳이다. 전환점 분석에서는 정신질환의 발병과 영농 직업재활의 두 주제가 발견되었다. 적응분석의 공통주제는 순응하기와 버텨내기, 낙관적으로 받아들이기였다. 위와 같은 연구결과를 기초로 정신장애여성의 영농직업재활을 위한 정신건강복지서비스의 방향에 대하여 제언하였다.

This study is about a life history of three women with mental disorder during farming vocational rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to understand and reconstruct the life process of them. This study based on life history analysis framework divided into ‘dimension of life’, ‘turing point’, ‘adaptation’ suggested by Mandelbaum(1973). The results of this study are as follows: In analysis of dimension of life, family, work place, mental hospital and asylum, working farm were represented as important factors. In analysis of the turning point, two themes were revealed: onset of mental illness and farming vocational rehabilitation. In analysis of the adaptation, complying enduring, and optimistic acceptance were revealed as the common themes to present unique adaptation process during life. Based on these results, I proposed some directions toward farming vocational rehabilitation services for women with mental disorder.
