The present study explores how to enhance the lexico-grammar knowledge with reference to the concordance analysis. From the communicative perspective, the concordance analysis helps learners identify lexico-grammar patterns through frequencies, collocation patterns, context-sensitive meaning and discoursal uses of words, particularly for the communicative language teaching. The study examines the learners’ concordance analysis to investigate their awareness if they can develop the recognition of linguistic patterns in communication. The concordance analysis examples were collected from two movies, Avatar and August Rush, which provided various communicative contexts. It was assumed that the learners’ concordance observation and analysis raise their awareness of how words are presented in different roles, the grammar choices and structural patterns. From this study, it was presumed that the learners’ concordance analysis can provide inductive grammar learning for communicative language. The evaluation of learners’ achievements that suggests concordance analysis lists provided communicative situations such as movies can give a pedagogical effect on learning lexico-grammar in relation to communication. The authentic concordance analysis samplers from the movies could help learners identify and understand the contextual functions of lexico-grammar patterns in communicative situation, therefore, help develop the learners’ ability to be aware of accurate and appropriate lexicogrammar.
