Purpose- The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-leadership and job performance of organizational members in Vietnamese restaurant franchise. This study analyzed whether psychological empowerment (task performance/ autonomy selectivity) had a moderating effect on the relationship between self-leadership and job performance. Design/methodology/approach- A survey was conducted on 246 Vietnamese people and SPSS 18 was used for the analysis. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and the multiple regression analysis were hired In order to analyze the data. Findings- In the results, self-leadership had a positive effect on job performance, except for the relationship between self clue cycle and imagining successful performance. In addition, in the relationship between self-leadership and job performance, when sub-factor of psychological empowerment, which is a moderating variable, is divided into work performance ability and autonomous selectivity, it is confirmed that there is a moderating effect. Research implications or Originality- Employees who are trained to improve their self-leadership skills may be judged to have higher levels of job performance than those who are not trained. Therefore, in order to enhance the job performance of the members of the organization, a restaurant franchise that has entered Vietnam needs to establish an education program to enhance the self-leadership capacity of the members and establish an appropriate empowerment system. This will increase the efficiency of organizational operation.
