Conjoint Analysis of Preferences on Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) Certificate School Meal Products

  • 45

In this study, we determine whether it would be possible to expand the supply of GAP agricultural products to school meals, by identifying the attributes that school meal nutritionists consider important when selecting apples for food. As an analysis method, the conjoint analysis method, which is easy to grasp consumer preference, was used. 4 things were set as attributes of apples for food ingredients. The attributes are consisted of PF(pesticide and fertilizer management) which represents environment-friendly certification, CCP(critical control point management) representing GAP certification, the GMO(GMO or NON-GMO) which is a weak point in the school food supply of GAP agricultural products, and the price representing the school meal budget constraints. As a result of the conjoint analysis of the school meal nutritionists, the attribute that they regards as important is price> PF> GMO> CCP. It is confirmed that the nutritionists do not consider the proper management of the CCP, which are the functional features of the GAP agricultural products, as compared with other attributes. Given these characteristics of sample nutritionists, it is important to be cautious at this point in the attempt to expand the supply of GAP agricultural products at school. In addition to the conjoint analysis, the following conclusions were drawn through t-test and k-means cluster analysis. Overall, we can feel the limitations of GAP agricultural products. First, there is little need for GAP agricultural products in school meals. Second, the issue of GAP accreditation without regulatory restrictions on GMO seed will continue to be raised.
