영역특수적 창의성의 발현기제 비교: 개방성의 하위측면과 성장 마인드셋의 역할을 중심으로

Comparing the Mechanisms of Domain-Specific Creativity: The Roles of Openness Facets and Growth Mindsets

본 연구에서는 개방성의 하위요인과 영역특수적 창의성(과학, 예술, 학문)의 관계에서 성장 마인드셋(창의, 지능)의 매개역할을 살펴봄으로써 영역마다 상이하게 나타나는 창의성의 발현 기제와 관계패턴을 비교하고자 하였다. 대학생 298명을 대상으로 영역특수적 창의성(과학, 예술, 학문)과 개방성의 6요인(상상, 심미, 감수성, 신기, 지성, 가치), 창의성장 마인드셋과 지능 성장 마인드셋을 측정하였다. 연구결과, 감수성은 창의성장 마인드셋을 매개하여 예술적 창의성에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고, 심미는 지능성장 마인드셋을 매개하여 학문적 창의성에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 신기와 감수성은 창의성장 마인드셋에 유의미한 영향을 주고, 신기와 심미는 지능성장 마인드셋에 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 과학적 창의성에는 지성의 영향력이 높았고, 예술적 창의성에는 감수성의 영향력이 높게 나타났다. 학문적 창의성에는 지성과 심미가 유의미한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 학술적, 실제적 함의와 향후 연구에 대한 방향성을 논의하였다.

This study examined the mediating effects of the growth mindsets (creativity, intelligence) in the relationship between the sub-facets of openness and domain-specific creativity (scientific, artistic, scholarly), in order to compare the different mechanisms that underlie creativity across domains. A total of 298 college students completed measures of domain-specific creativity (scientific, artistic, scholarly), 6 sub-facets of openness (fantasy, aesthetics, feelings, novelty, ideas, and values), and the growth mindsets of creativity and intelligence. Results showed that feelings had a significant influence on artistic creativity by mediating the growth mindsets of creativity, and aesthetics gave a significant influence on scholarly creativity by mediating the growth mindsets of intelligence. Novelty and feelings influenced the growth mindsets of creativity significantly, and novelty and aesthetics significantly influenced the growth mindsets of intelligence. The impact of ideas was significant on scientific creativity, and the influence of feelings was significant on artistic creativity. For scholarly creativity, the impacts of ideas and aesthetics were significant. Theoretical and practical implications and future directions were discussed.
