益山 於陽洞가마 出土 白磁 硏究

A Study on White Porcelain Excavated in Kiln in Eoyangdong, Iksan

우리 연구소에서는 익산시 어양동가마에서 근대 백자와 연관된 폐기장을 수습 조사한 바 있다. 현재 국내에서 조사된 일제 강점기의 가마로는 충주 미륵리와 양구 칠전리 등 이 알려져 있다. 따라서 익산 어양동가마의 수습 폐기장은 그 학술적 가치가 높은 것으로 판단된다. 또한 연접한 구릉에 이와 연관된 가마가 위치하고 있어 더욱 주목된다. 어양동가마 출토 근대 백자는 발과 요강에 한정되어 일본자기를 모방해서 현지에서 생산한 것 이다. 그 시기는 1930년 이후로 추정된다. 일제강점기의 1930년대는 시기구분에 있어 전환기(1930년-1935년경)와 쇠퇴기(1935년- 1945년경)해당된다. 전환기의 경우, 총독부는 중일전쟁에 필요한 전시원료를 우선적으로 공급하기 위해 국내 도자업 운영에 점차 제안을 두었다. 쇠퇴기에는 일본이 제2차대전을 동시에 수행 하면서 전시물자 충당을 위해 통제경제의 실시, 자국으로의 요업 관련 원료의 유출 등으로 인해 국가지정공장을 제외한 대부분의 제작장들이 폐업하였으며, 이러한 사정은 지방가마들의 경우 더욱 심각하였다.

Our lab excavated and researched discarded porcelains which were manufactured during in Eoyangdong kiln in Iksan city. Currently, kilns operated in the Japanese colonial era are located in Mireuk-ri in Chungju and Chiljeon-ri in Yang-gu. Thus, I believe that the discarded porcelains found in the Eoyangdong kiln in Iksan have a high academic value. What makes it more important is the fact that a kiln which is related to this is located in a nearby hill. The white porcelain of modern times excavated in Eoyangdong kiln only includes ordinary bowls and chamber pots which were imitated from Japanese porcelain. The timing is assumed to be after 1930. The 1930s, the Japanese colonial era, include the transitional period(1930 to 1935) and the decline period(1935 to 1945). In the transitional period, the government general of Japan gradually put limitation on the porcelain businesses in Korea in order to primarily supply materials that are needed for the war with China. In the decline phase, as Japan waged the World War 2 at the same time, it needed to supply goods for the war. Therefore, the controlled economy policy and the outflow of the porcelain-related materials into Japan led to closure of most of porcelain manufacturers in Korea except for businesses designated by the country. This was especially the case for local kilns.
