현대 한국어 ‘귀찮다’, ‘성가시다’, ‘번거롭다’의 의미 분석

Semantic Analysis of ‘gwi-chanh-da’, ‘seong-ga-si-da’, ‘beon-geo-lob-da’ in Modern Korean

본 연구는 유의어의 정확한 의미 기술을 위한 하나의 기초적 연구로서, 문장 안에서 필수적 역할을 하지만 그 의미 차이를 변별하기 어려운 감정 형용사 유의어 가운데 사전의 뜻풀이가 서로 순환되어 나타나는 ‘귀찮다’, ‘성가시다’, ‘번거롭다’의 의미 특성을 분석·기술하였다. 우선 ‘귀찮다’의 사전 간 상이한 뜻풀이를 동일하게 정리하고, 이와 유의 관계에 있는 ‘성가시다’, ‘번거롭다’의 변별적 특성을 분석하여 유의어의 의미 기술을 보다 정확히 하고자 하였다. 이러한 유의어의 의미 분석과 기술은 사전 편찬뿐 아니라 교육 분야에서의 활용을 위해서도 반드시 필요한 작업이다. 특히 어휘 교육은 언어 학습의 초급 단계에서부터 시작되기 때문에 유의어의 정확한 의미 분석과 기술은 한국어 학습의 전 단계에 걸쳐 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

This study is a basic study for accurate semantic analysis of synonyms. Adjectives play an essential role in sentences, but emotional adjectives in particular are hard to tell the difference in meaning. This study analyzed the semantic characteristics of ‘gwi-chanh-da’, ‘seong-ga-si-da’, ‘beon-geo-lob-da’, which are described in the same sense in the dictionary. First, the meaning of ‘gwi-chanh-da’, which is explained differently in each dictionary, is equally summarized. And the discriminative characteristics of the synonyms ‘seong-ga-si-da’ and ‘beon-geo-lob-da’ were analyzed. Semantic analysis and explanation of synonyms is essential not only in the compilation of dictionaries but also in the field of education. Since vocabulary education, in particular, starts from the early stages of language learning, precise semantic analysis and descriptions of the synonyms can help throughout the entire stage of Korean learning.
