대학원 유학생 석사학위논문의 ‘이론적 배경’ 구성에 관한 일고찰

Study on Construction of Thesis s theoretical background for Foreign Graduate Students: Focusing on the preliminary thesis presented in Korean Language Education Course

본 연구는 대학원 유학생에게 학위논문의 완성이 중요함을 전제로, 실제 학위논문관련 수업에서 심사를 앞둔 대학원 유학생이 발표한 학위논문 2장의 분석을 토대로 교육적 함의를 도출한 연구이다. 먼저 일반적 학위논문의 구조를 분석하고, 2장 ‘이론적 배경’에 들어가야 할 핵심적인 담화 내용을 배경 이론과 현황 분석을 중심으로 정리했다. 그리고 ‘실제’ 대학원 유학생의 학위논문 2장과 일반적인 학위논문 2장의 구조를 비교하고, 특징을 도출했다. 그리고 학위논문 2장의 질적 향상을 도모할 수 있는 교육적 함의를 제안했다. 본 연구는 학위논문 2장의 일반적 구조를 정리하고, 이를 실제 대학원 유학생이 완성한 학위논문에 적용했다는 것, 그리고 이를 중심으로 대학원 유학생이 학위논문에 대한 장르적 인지가 부족하다는 것을 전제로 교육적 함의를 도출했다는 점에서 의의가 있을 것이다.

This study demonstrates an educational consensus derived from an analysis on the chapter 2 in a thesis, which was written by foreign graduate students. The thesis is actually educated, given that the completion of thesis is important to them. At first, it analyzed the general structure of thesis and arranged core discourse contents to be included in the chapter 2. And compared the structure of chapter 2 of the general thesis and chapter 2 in the thesis written by foreign graduate students, and derived features. And the study suggested an educational implication that could promote quality improvement in chapter 2 of the thesis. This study is valuable in that it outlines the general structure of chapter 2 of the thesis, applies them to chapter 2 in the thesis written by foreign graduate students, and derived educational implications based on the premise that a graduate student lacks genre recognition of his/her thesis.
