고등교육 양적 연구 동향 분석

Analysis of Quantitative Research Trends in Higher Education

본 연구는 고등교육 분야 양적 연구 동향을 파악하기 위해, 2009~2018년까지 10년 동안 6개의 학술지에 게재된 244편의 양적 연구 논문들을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 양적 연구 동향 분석을 위해서 분석 기준을 주제, 대상, 분석 목적, 분석 방법으로 선정였다. 이러한 분석 결과에 대한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등교육의 양적 연구에 있어서 연구 주제의 다변화가 필요하다. 교육과 재정이라는 고등교육의 주제가 전체 분석 대상 논문 중 약 73%를 차지하였다. 둘째, 고등교육의 양적 연구 대상 또한 다양해질 필요가 있다. 대학생과 대학교를 대상으로 한 연구가 총 244편 중 220편으로 대부분을 차지하였다. 셋째, 국가 수준에서 조사하고 관리하는 패널 자료들이 연구에 많이 활용되었다. 넷째, 고등교육 연구 동향을 정확히 파악하기 위해서는 연구공동체가 시급히 형성되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze trends of quantitative research in the field of higher education. The study examined 244 quantitative research published in six journals. The journal papers categorized into 4 themes, subject, target population, purpose, and method. The results and implications are as follows. First, with regard to quantitative research in higher education, research subjects need to be diversified. Among the papers, research on education and finance were 73%. Second, research targets need to be diversified. The majority of the papers(220 of 244) targeted institutions and students. Third, mostly the panel data collected by government agencies were used. Fourth, a research community for higher education study needs to be established.
