바울의 동성애 신학과 목회윤리: 교회의 동성애자 수용에 대한 기독교윤리학적 연구

Paul’s Theology of Homosexuality and Pastoral Ethics: A Christian Ethical Study on Homosexual Person in Church Office

지난 50년 동안 교회는 동성애 이슈로 씨름해왔다. 이 이슈는 21세기에 들어 주류 교회를 분열시킨 가장 주요한 원인이 되었다. 이 현상은 곧 복음주의 교회와 한국교회에도 나타날 것이다. 교회의 하나됨을 도모하고 교회의 거룩을 유지하기 위해서 교회는 동성애에 대한 신학을 분명히 정립하고 동성애자를 교회가 어떻게 대하고 목회해야 할 것인지를 미리 연구해야 한다. 이 논문은 크게 세 가지 주제에 초점을 맞춘다. 첫째로, 바울 서신을 통해 바울이 동성애를 어떻게 이해했는지, 둘째로, 동성애 문제를 갖고 있던 고린도교회에 바울이 제시했던 목회적 처방은 무엇인지, 그리고 셋째로, 바울의 신학과 목회적 처방의 빛에서 현재 우리 시대의 동성애 신자들을 교회가 어떻게 대해야 할 것인지를 분석하는 것이다. 바울이 고린도전서에서 동성애를 하나님 나라를 유업을 받지 못할 자라고 가르친 6장 9절의 내용의 의미를 분석하고 그것을 통해 바울이 특정 동성애 행위를 정죄한 것인지, 아니면 동성애 행위 그 자체를 정죄한 것인지를 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 로마서에서 바울이 역리로 규정한 동성애의 의미와 수정주의자들의 다른 해석을 비판적으로 검토하면서 바울이 말한 역리의 의미를 분석할 것이다. 나아가 바울이 고린도 교회에 보낸 편지에서 교회가 교회 안의 동성애 행동을 한 사람을 어떻게 대해야 할 것인지를 살필 것이다. 고린도전서와 고린도후서를 자세히 검토하면서 동성애자에 대한 목회윤리가 무엇인지를 분석할 것이다. 마지막으로 바울의 가르침에 근거해서, 한국교회가 동성애자들을 어떻게 대해야 할 것인지를 제시하고, 교회 안의 동성애자들에게 회원권과 직분을 주는 문제에 대한 방안을 제시할 것이다.

For last fifty years, the mainline churches in Western world have struggled with same-sex issue, which eventually caused the major division of the church in the early 21th century. In order to prevent this phenomenon from happening in near future in Korea, the church in Korea needs to prepare itself with the right theological understanding of same-sex activity and pastoral guidelines concerning members engaged in same-sex activity. This article aims at three goals: Paul’s theology of homosexuality, Paul’s pastoral guidelines for church leaders in Corinthian church to deal with issues such as memberships and persons acting same-sex in church offices. It tries to show the meanings of μαλακοὶ and ἀρσενοκοῖται and what it means by for Paul to say that they do not inherit the kingdom of God. Also. it explores Paul’s identification of φύσιν as against-nature in Romans 1:24-27 in contrast with Revisionist’s different understanding of it as acting against one’s own sexual dispositions. Furthermore, it analyzes Paul’s pastoral ethics for the church to deal with person engaged in same-sex activity by analyzing advice and admonitions for leaders of Corinthian church to discipline members engaged in same-sex activity. Finally, it provides some pastoral guidelines for Christian church so that it faces with some issues such as qualifications of church membership and the possibility of offices for persons in same-sex activity.
