A Study of Evaluation system development of College『Critical Thinking』

본 연구자들은 ‘논리-추론 능력 및 고전에 기초한 문제해결 능력’을 객관적으로 평가하는 시스템을 마련함으로써 대학 교양에서 <비판적 사고> 교육의 질적 개선에 이바지할 수 있다고 판단한다. 논리-추론 능력 시험은 논증의 분석 및 평가를 중심으로 평가하고, 고전에 기초한 문제해결 능력 시험은 고전 필독서에 나타난 논증적인 문제 해결을 중심으로 평가한다. 이는 완전한 능력 평가를 지향하는 것이 아니라 전공 진입 이후에 계속적으로 비판적 사고 능력을 개발해나가기 위한 기초가 되는 능력 평가 정도의 역할을 하는 것을 지향하고, 학생들이 비판적 사고에 적극적인 관심을 갖게 하는 유인이 되기를 지향한다. 그래서 본 연구자들이 만드는 모든 평가 문제는 ‘비판적으로 사고하기’, ‘스스로 생각하기’의 태도를 자극하면서 그런 태도가 인간 삶에서 왜 중요한지 그 중요성을 이해시키는데 초점을 둔다.

We seek to improve the quality of <critical thinking> education in the university general education program by establishing formal evaluation system of ‘logicinference skills & problem-solving ability based on critical reading of the classics’. The logic-inference skill test examines students argument analysis and evaluation technique, and the problem-solving test targets to examine how students resolve the confronting problems in the classics they read. The evaluation system that we develop does not aim to the independently accomplished <critical thinking> evaluation form; The evaluation will be focused on examining the first-year students ability whether they can continue to think ‘critically’ after they go in for their major study, and will be used to inspire students to keep the <critical thinking> attitude in their whole life. As the teachers in the university general education program, we want students being the critical thinkers, not the students who are well trained for the critical thinking tests.
