본 논문은 리디머교회의 ‘신앙과 일’ 사역을 분석하여 팀 켈러의 일의 신학이 가진 주요 특징을 찾아보고자 하였다. 신앙과 일 사역은 리디머교회의 5대핵심 사역 중 하나이다. 또한 신앙과 일 사역은 7가지 프로그램으로 구성되어 있다. 이 신앙과 일 사역에 담긴 켈러의 일의 신학은 기본적으로 기독교 세계관에 기초하고 있다. 켈러는 창조, 타락, 구속이라는 세 단계에 따라서 각 단계별로 몇 가지의 중요한 원리와 명제들을 잘 발전시켜 제시한다. 그러나 켈러는 기독교 세계관으로만 모든 것을 설명하려 하지는 않고 두 왕국 이론도 상당 부분 수용하고 있다. 이는 켈러가 가진 교회와 문화의 관계에 대한 통합적 관점 때문에 가능하였다. 그렇게 함으로써 켈러는 개혁주의 신학의 관점에서 일의 신학을 성공적으로 정립할 수 있었다.
In this paper, we attempted to find out the main features of Timothy Keller’s theology of work by analyzing the ‘faith and work’ ministry of the church. F&W is one of the five key ministries of the Redeemer Church. F&W ministry also consists of seven programs. Keller’s theology of work in this F&W ministry is fundamentally based on the Christian worldview. Keller developed and presented several important principles and propositions in each of the three stages of creation, corruption, and redemption. Keller, however, did not only attempt to explain everything in terms of the Christian worldview but also embrace much of the two kingdoms theory. This was possible because of Keller’s integrated view of church and cultural relations. In doing so, Keller was able to successfully establish the theology of work in terms of Reformed theology.
