민족 공동체 건설을 위한 성서신학적 기초

A Biblical Theology of the ‘Nation Community’ for Korea

본 논문은 성서에 근거하여 민족 공동체(nation community) 개념을 정립하려는 시도이다. 창세기 본문을 통해 민족이 창조 질서의 일부임을 밝히고, 민족 국가의 성서적 모델로서 이스라엘 민족의 형성 과정, 계약법에 근거한 공동체 윤리, 민족의 패망 과정, 바벨론 포로기 이후 역대기사가에 의한 민족 통합 노력을 정리하였다. 신약성서에서는 초대 교회의 사마리아 통합 노력과 사도 바울의 ‘온 이스라엘’, ‘하나님의 교회’, ‘그리스도의 몸’ 은유 분석을 통해 민족 신학의 가능성을 모색하였다. 이를 기초로 한민족 공동체의 형성 과정을 한국사를 통해서 조명하였다. 한민족이 형성된 시기를 고조선 시대로 보았고, 그 민족적 의의를 분석하였다. 한민족의 위기를 가져왔던 국제적 전쟁을 분석하여 동아시아 평화의 중요성을 언급하였다. 농민 항쟁과 정변 등 민족 분열적 요소를 분석하여 한국사가 민주주의 발달사였음을 밝혔다. 이상의 논의에 근거해서 현재 한국 민족 공동체 건설을 위한 몇 가지 실천적 제안을 하였다. 본 논문의 기여점은 무비판적으로 사용되는 ‘민족’ 개념을 신구약성서를 바탕으로 재정립했다는 데 있다. 한국사를 성서신학으로 해석하는 학제 간 연구의 한 시도이다.

This paper is an attempt to establish the concept of bible-based ‘nation community’. The Genesis text reveals that nation community is a part of creation. This document describes both the formation of the ancient state of Israel as a model and the development of a system of community ethics under the covenant code. Later the Bibleexamines the destruction of Israel and the efforts to unify the nation in the book of Chronicles. The possibility of the church of nation community is explored by investigating the early church effort to integrate Samaria and Paul’s theology regarding ‘all Israel’, ‘the church of God’, and the metaphor of ‘the body of Christ’. Based on this, the process of forming a Korean national community is pursued through Korean history. Considering that the origin of the Korean people goes back to the Gojoseon era, this paper analyzed its national significance. Through analyzing the international wars which caused crises in Korea, it shows how important the peace in East Asia is. Also, analyzing national conflicts such as peasant uprisings and political upheavals, it finds that Korean history includes democratic movements. Based on the above arguments, several practical proposals are made for building a nation community. This paper makes a positive contribution in that, based on the Old & New Testament, it redefines the concept of ‘nation community’, which until now, tends to have been uncritically accepted. Finally, this is an interdisciplinary study that attempts to interpret the Korean history in the light of biblical theology.
