A Meta-Analysis on the Effects of Multicultural Parent Education Program

본 연구는 다문화 부모교육 프로그램 효과를 검증한 개별 연구물들을 종합하여 체계적 분석 결과를 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2009-2018년까지 수행 된 학술지와 국내 석·박사 학위 논문을 기반으로 PICOS 기준에 따른 19편의 연구를 분석하여 69개의 효과 크기를 산출하였고, R을 이용하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 다문화 부모교육 프로그램의 전체 평균 효과는 큰 효과 크기로 나타났다. 둘째, 조절 변인에 따라 분석한 결과 적용인원의 경우 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 교수방식은 통합교수유형, 교육대상은 부-모, 적용 회기는 9-16회기를 적용했을 때 효과 크기가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 종속 변인에 따라 분석한 결과 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 사회적 유능감 관련 변인의 효과가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 다문화 가정의 부모교육 프로그램의 효과를 객관적으로 분석했다는 것에 의의가 있으며 추후 관련 프로그램을 개발하는 데 있어 유용한 자료로 활용할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to calculate the size of the effect of studies of parent education programs of multicultural families, and to present objective and systematic data in the development and application of related programs in the future. To this end, 19 studies under PICOS and 69 effect sizes were calculated based on theses and journals of Korean masters and doctorate degrees studied from 2009 to 2018 and meta-analysis was conducted using R. The results of the study are as follows. First, the overall average effect of multicultural parent education programs was shown to be of large effect size. Second, the analysis according to the adjustment variables showed no significant difference in the number of people applied, but the effect was the largest when applying the integrated teaching type, father-mother, and 9-16 session. Third, the analysis according to the dependent variables did not show any significant difference between the variables, but it was found that the social skills-related variables had the large effect size. This study is meaningful in that it objectively analyzed the effectiveness of parent education programs for multicultural families and can be used as useful data in developing related programs in the future.
