KDB 모형을 통한 사회과 To Do 요소의 구조화

Structuralization of To Do Elements of Social Studies through KDB Model

본 연구는 그동안 이루어진 KDB 모형을 활용한 통합교육과정 설계 연구에서 내용 요소의 중복이나 누락, 또는 요소 간의 혼동이 일어나는 문제를 발견하고 각 교과의 내용 요소가 명확히 구조화 되어야 한다는 문제 의식에서 시작되었다. 이를 위해 여러 교과 중 통합교육과정 설계에 주로 사용되는 사회과를 선택하였고, ‘지식’과 ‘기능’ 중 지식의 획득이나 활용, 처리에 사용되는 능력으로 지식을 확장하여 새로운 정보를 배울 수 있도록 하는 좋은 수단이며, 타인과의 상호작용을 기회를 제공하는 ‘To Do’ 요소를 구조화였다. 이를 위해, 사회과의 기능을 분석한 연구를 바탕으로 세부 기능을 분류하고, 이것을 Drake가 제시한 ‘기능’의 삼각형에 맞추어 위계적인 구조를 밝혔다. 이렇게 완성한 사회과의 위계적 To Do 요소는 다음과 같이 활용될 수 있다. 첫째, 추후 통합교육과정 설계 시 KDB 모형의 적용을 용이하게 하여, 보다 객관적이고 신뢰성 있는 통합교육과정 설계가 가능해 질 것이다. 둘째, 사회과 자체의 연구에도 도움을 줄 수 있다. 기존에 밝히지 못했던 사회과 기능의 위계를 새롭고 명확한 기준에 따라 구조화했기 때문이다. 추후 KDB 모형이라는 하나의 기준에 따라사회과 뿐만 아니라 타 교과에서도 ‘To Do’ 요소와 ‘To Know’ 요소에 대해 명확한 구조화가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

This study started from the awareness of the problem that the content elements of each subject should be clearly structured by discovering the problem of duplication, omission, or confusion between the elements in the research related to the integrated unit design using the KDB model. For this, social studies, which is mainly used in designing integrated units among various subjects, was selected, and it was a good means to expand knowledge to learn new information with the ability to acquire, utilize and process knowledge among ‘knowledge and ‘skills , and it was a structure of ‘To Do element that provides opportunities for interaction with others. For this purpose, detailed skills were classified based on the study of the skills of social studies, and the hierarchical structure was revealed according to the triangle of ‘skill suggested by Drake. The hierarchical To Do elements of social studies completed in this way can be used as follows: First, it makes the application of KDB model easier when designing integrated curriculum in the future. It will be possible to conduct more objective and reliable research. Second, it will help research of social studies itself. This is because the hierarchy of social studies functions that have not been disclosed has been structured according to new and clear standards. After that, if we reveal the hierarchical structure according to one standard called KDB model about the TO KNOW element or the details of other subjects, more valid and accurate research will be conducted in designing the integrated curriculum.
