상담전공 학부생의 진로결정부터 직업세계 진입까지의 경험 탐색

An Exploring the Experience of Career Decision to the Entry of Work for Graduates with Counseling Degree: Focused on Employees of Counseling

본 연구는 상담전공 학부생의 진로결정부터 직업 세계에 진입하기까지의 경험을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 상담 관련 직종에 종사하고 있는 상담전공 학부 졸업생 7명의 경험을 심층면담을 통해 확인하고 이를 통해 얻은 자료를 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 76개의 의미단위, 28개의 하위구성요소, 7개의 상위구성요소가 도출되었다. 7개의 상위구성요소에는 ‘상담 진로에 흥미를 느끼다’, ‘상담으로의 취업을 결정하는 데 장애물에 부딪히다’, ‘그럼에도 상담 일에 계속 끌리다’, ‘적극적으로 기회를 찾아 경험하다’, ‘취업하는 과정이 녹록지 않음을 경험하다’, ‘그럼에도 불구하고 취업전선에 적극적으로 뛰어들다’, ‘마침내 취업에 성공하여 일하게 되다’가 포함된다. 또한, 연구참여자 경험의 본질적이고 일반적인 의미를 구성한 결과, 상담전공 학부생들의 취업에 대한 진로결정부터 직업세계에 진입하기까지의 경험은 ‘진로에 대한 내적 갈등’을 시작으로 ‘성찰을 통한 자기 욕구를 확인’하고, ‘진로준비행동 착수’를 하며, ‘취업에 대한 좌절과 시련’을 경험함에도 불구하고 ‘포기하지 않고 계속 도전’하여 마침내 ‘직업세계로 진입’을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구 결과에 대한 논의점과 관련 학과의 대학 재학생 및 졸업 예정자들의 취업지도에 대한 방안 및 추후 연구에 대한 시사점을 기술하였다.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the experience of career decision to the entry of work for undergraduates on counseling major. For this, the experience of seven graduates with counseling degree who have worked in counseling for less than a year were identified by in-depth interviews with them and the obtained data were analyzed using Giorgi s technical phenomenology. As a result, 76 semantic units, 28 low-level components, and 7 high-level components were derived. The seven high-level components included ‘being interested in counseling careers , ‘facing obstacles in deciding employment for counseling , ‘continuing to be attracted to counseling , ‘actively looking for and experiencing opportunities , ‘The process of getting a job is not easy’, and ‘being finally succeeded in getting a job’. Also, as a result of constructing the essential and general meaning of the participants experience of career decision to the entry of work, they started with ‘internal conflict about career’ on the school to work transition process. And they ‘identified their own needs by self-reflection’ and ‘initiated career preparing behavior’. They ‘continued to try to have a job without give up’ although ‘they were frustrated and suffered hardship for employment’. Finally, they ‘entry to work’. Lastly, the results of this study were discussed and for employment guidance of university students and prospective graduates in related departments, implications for career guidance and future research were described.
