고전소설에 나타나는 인문학적 감성과 교육적 가치

The term ‘Classics’ indicates books that have been recognized as valuable to many people over time. It is judged that they have a standard and value high enough to acquire universality beyond the boundaries of history and culture. Therefore, the absolute value of classics as a historical standard has been recognized. Of the perspectives to view ‘classics’, one way to view them in a relative way rather than having absolute authority is getting stronger. As all classics are made based on a specific age, their value is defined by necessity. However, the value of classics go beyond the limits of the present and they are meaningful in that they are helpful in pioneering the future. It is thought that classics are an important base to overcome present limits and lead us to the future. Classic s can be truly classical when they are manifested as diverse values in the present condition beyond the value of old things. However, we tend to be satisfied with retrospective tastes or exaggeration of the past in our recognition of the classics. As a result, we can not understand the value of classics properly. Therefore, this study aims to speculate on the value of classical literature, in particular, the values of classic novels that can be taught, focusing on humanistic senses and the meanings of classical novels. For this purpose, this study presented the three texts <Choichuk Jeon>, <Soosunggung Mongyurok> and <Janghwa Hongryon Jeon> as examples and analysed the humanistic senses in them and their educational value. Finally, this study discovered the humanism in <Choichun Jeon>, the liberation of humanity in <Soosunggung Mongyurok>, and the community consciousness through othernization in <Janghwa Hongryon Jeon> and each classic novel has the same critical mind to be presented, even today, and new meaning is created through the process to solve it. From this aspect, it was discovered tha‘t classical novels’ have great value as classics and texts for liberal education rather than simply being an aged heritage.
