The purpose of this study is to investigate teaching academic writing in college, especially about education contents and method through literature review. First, this study explored the concept and nature of academic writing through synthesizing various prior studies. After that, this study briefly considered the arguments about education contents of academic writing in college. There are two approaches about college writing education : 1) general academic writing approach and 2) discipline-specific academic writing approach. Next, this study explored Writing Across the Curriculum(WAC) which is representative method of college writing education. In spite of the importance of WAC, its concept is ambiguous. So this study examined the concept of WAC through literature review. Through this investigation I proposed two suggestions.
