Infusing Career Development into the EFL Classroom: A Proposal for University Teachers

Infusing career development into the EFL classroom can help students with pragmatic communicative competence and gives students the opportunity to work with authentic tasks. This paper will first introduce the topic of career development then review research that shows the positive aspects for students by infusion of career topics. Then a justification for use in a university EFL curriculum is given along with an explanation of how career development can be a measurable quality. Finally, methods of infusing career development tasks into the EFL curriculum will be introduced.
