우리 학문의 길 찾기

An attempt to search for our academic way : from my academic experience

한국에서의 학문은 대부분 서양의 논리와 방법론 그리고 서양에서 연구된 성과를 배우고 수용하는 데 노력하고 있다. 따라서 한국의 자생적 학문은 찾아보기 힘들게 되었으며 자생적인 학문적 성과가 있더라도 꽃을 피우기 힘든 상황이 되었다. 따라서 한국에서 학문의 식민성은 점점 고착화되고 있다. 학문의 식민성을 극복하고 한국의 독창적인 학문의 길을 찾고 동시에 학문의 보편성을 이루기 위해서 우리는 끊임없이 우리 나름의 학문적 길을 찾아야 할 것이다. 물론 이미 여러 학문분야에서 우리 학문의 길을 찾으려는 시도가 있었다. 이러한 시도와 함께 이 글은 생명학적 관점에서 학문적 진리의 길을 모색하고자 하며 학문적 진리와 아름다움은 서로 통한다고 할 수 있을 것이다.

Most Korean scholars tend to learn Western logic and methodology and to absorb the Western academic achievements. Therefore, it is difficult to find Korean autochthonic studies. Even if some Korean scholars succeed in attaining their own academic achievements, they become difficult to spread wide. Thus, the academic colonization dominate Korean academic world more and more. To overcome the academic colonization, to search for the unique way of Korean autochthonic studies and to get the universal academic achievement, we must constantly make effort to pursue our own academic path. There were many Korean scholars who struggled to form Korean authentic way for scholarship. This paper aims to seek the path to truth in viewpoint of life-studies, and we can say that the truth opens into beauty.
