한국 산업단지들의 경쟁력 우위 산업 분석에 관한 연구: 고용, 생산, 수출 데이터를 이용한 LQ 분석을 중심으로

A Research on the Industry-specific Competitiveness on Industrial Parks in Korea: using the LQ Analysis with Employment, Export, and Output

한국의 산업단지들은 제조업을 중심으로 정부의 산업단지 육성 정책과 함께 한국 산업 발전에 커다란 역할을 해왔다. 기존의 한국산업단지공단(2015)의 연구는 2014년을 기준으로 한국의 여섯 개 국가산업단지에 대해 산업별 비중을 계산하는 방법을 이용해 산업단지별 경쟁력 분석을 하였다. 본고는 기존의 산업별 비중을 계산하는 방법과 달리 LQ 방법을 응용하여 분석하고 기간을 최근 기간까지로 확장하고 고용, 생산, 수출 데이터를 가지고 실증분석을 하였다는 측면에서 학문적인 기여가 있다. 본고는 LQ 분석을 통해 한국의 산업단지별 경쟁력 우위 산업을 도출하였고 2014년부터 2018년까지 산업단지별 경쟁력 우위 산업의 변화 과정이 존재하였다는 사실을 발견하였다. 그리고 고용, 생산, 수출 측면에서 산업단지별 경쟁력 우위 산업이 존재함을 확인할 수 있었고 최근에 조성된 산업단지를 제외하고는 산업간 구조 변화가 발생한 경우를 확인할 수 있었으며 일부 산업단지에서는 산업구조 고도화 현상을 보이고 있음을 분석 결과는 보여주고 있다. 경쟁력 우위 산업이 고용, 생산, 수출에 있어서 각각 일치하는지에 대해 분석한 결과, 일치하는 경우가 그렇지 않은 경우 보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 한편 운송장비의 경우, 전국의 다수 산업단지에서 경쟁력이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study analyzes the regional competitiveness of Korean industrial parks from 2014 to 2018 in terms of employment, production, and exports using the LQ analysis by industry. It analyzes whether the competitiveness of industrial parks based on 2014 changes by 2018. Unlike the existing methodology in calculating the specific weights of industries, this paper has contributed academically to applying the LQ methodology and extending the period to recent period, and conducting an empirical analysis with employment, production, and export data. Through the LQ analysis, we derive competitive industry by industrial park in Korea, and the result of analysis shows the process of changing the competitive industry by industrial park from 2014 to 2018. Results of analysis show that competitive industries exist by industrial park in terms of employment, production, and export, and that changes in structure between industries have occurred except for recently constructed industrial parks. And some industrial parks show improvement in industrial structure. The results of the analysis in terms of employment, production, and export show that production of transportation equipment is competitive in many industrial complexes across the country.
