This study aims to find out the current situation and the plan of safety accidents of infants and young children in the home on the background that social demand for safety issues in the home is steadily increasing. The results of this study are as follows. First, in case of accidents among children and infants at home, the accidents of boys are more frequent than girls, and the most accidents occur in summer. As children enter the infancy, accidents in the bathroom are frequent, so care must be taken to prevent accidents. Second, the online survey results for mothers of infants and toddlers (1,000 copies) showed that the most common types of accidents were crash or bump accidents, slippage and fall accidents. Careful attention should be given to the placement of furniture and appliances in the home and to building finishes (e.g. anti-skid). Third, assuming additional safety prevention facilities in the home, respondents were willing to pay about 50,000 won. This implies that most households in Korea are very passive in paying additional installations for their children s home safety issues, which requires raising awareness about the safety of homes and active response by construction companies. Fourth, as a result of calculating the monthly average WTP for the provisional safety prevention fee , it was found to be 28, 035 won per month. It is estimated that the formation of Korean safety prevention burden market of about 42 billion won per month and 512 billion won per year for infants and young children in the home, indicating this is important from a housing management and policy perspective.
